This Privacy Policy explains how Countdown 5 (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services (the “Service”), a community directory and weekly rankings for Florida’s Space Coast and nearby counties.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you register with email and password, or sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your email address and basic profile details (such as your name). You choose a public username and your county.
• Content you submit. Business listings, events, votes, list entries, ownership claims, advertising or quote requests, and any images you upload. Quote and claim requests include the contact email and phone you provide.
• Usage and device data. Aggregate activity such as ad impressions and clicks, and limited technical data (including IP address) used for security and rate limiting.
• Cookies. We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use them for cross-site advertising.

How we use information

• To provide and maintain the Service, including authentication and your profile.
• To publish and rank community content, run polls, and display directory listings.
• To review submissions, ownership claims, and advertising requests, and to respond to you.
• To protect the Service from abuse, spam, and fraud (including rate limiting).
• To communicate with you about your account, submissions, or advertising inquiries.

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that operate the Service on our behalf, and as required by law:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
• Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
• Google and Meta (Facebook) — only if you choose to sign in with them.
• Upstash — rate limiting to protect the Service.

Public content you choose to post — your username, listings, events, and votes — is visible to others by design.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us.

Your choices

• Update your profile and county from your account settings.
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data.
• Sign out at any time to end your session.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
